Thembi Seete shot to stardom in the 90’s as a member of the Kwaito music group Boom Shaka, well known for their massive hits It’s About Time and Thobela. Following Boom Shaka’s success, Seete branched out on her own in 2001 and cemented her solo career with her albums Lollipop, Smatsatsa and Music Is My Life. Her 2014 hit single Thuntsa Lerole enjoyed major airplay across radio stations and its music video has over 145 000 views on YouTube.

Seete does not only thrive in the music industry, she also enjoys success as a reputable actress, television presenter and radio broadcaster. Her acting career dates back to productions such as popular SABC 1 youth drama Zone 14 and she currently stars on etv’s blockbuster soapie Rhythm City as ‘Bongi Diamond’. She has also starred on the big screen in Tell Me Sweet Something as a supporting actress, directed by Akin Omotoso and produced by Robbie Thorpe. One of her notable acting achievements was her leading role in the 2014 production The Gift, alongside industry giant Shona Ferguson. Here she played the role of ‘Bontle’, a successful young lady who later discovers her husband's dark secrets. She affirmed her place as a seasoned presenter on one of the country’s leading dance shows Jika Majika and Mzansi Magic’s dating show, Nguwe Na. Seete took her career to new heights in 2017 when she secured her first radio gig as a host on Massiv Metro, an online radio platform founded by entrepreneur and entertainer Dj Sbu. Her show Thembi TakeOver, which airs from 15:00-17:00, has sharp focus on women empowerment, lifestyle and education with the aim of creating a space where listeners can engage with topics that cover real everyday issues.

Seete the Brand Ambassador

Thembi Seete officially became the brand ambassador for POND’s New Age Miracle range at the beginning of 2018. She has also partnered with Always Ultra where she assisted in guiding young ladies from 12 years and older to successfully navigate through their menstrual cycle. Seete has been affiliated with other brands such as global beauty brand LUX and is currently face of the South African division for the French watch company Michel Herbelin for the past three years. Seete still continues to actively pursue her music, broadcasting and acting careers. The multi skilled and talented media personality also continues with her brand ambassador roles and MCs, delivers keynote addresses and is often invited as a key guest at various events
