She broke into the broadcasting industry in 1996 where she worked as a presenter for "Your Own Business" she was later snapped up by the SABC news department. She moved from English news to Morning Live where she was the Economic News Presenter. She has also been the face of SABC 3's prime time English news bulletin for 3 years.
With the Launch of SABC News International, Mapaseka was able to explore her producing skills and also extended her expertise to present and produce "Rendezvous Africa," a current affairs with a strong emphasis on African news.
